Philip has lived in Ruislip since 1970 and was first elected to Hillingdon Council in 1993. He is a well known local representative and active community campaigner taking a keen interest in planning and development matters, particularly within Ruislip’s Conservation Area, as well as the regeneration of Ruislip High Street. He also attends the HS2 Community stakeholders meeting where he raises local concerns and works to hold HS2 and their contractors to account. 

Since 2016 he has taken a leading role in the local Flood Liaison Action Groups which since May 2022 has also included the FLAG groups for North Ruislip, working with residents and partner organisations to build local flood resilience, as well as a constructive relationship with the Friends of Pinn Meadows, where he helps other resident volunteers.     

He currently chairs the West Ruislip Safer Neighbourhood Team ward panel working with the Metropolitan Police and community representatives. Recently he has also been playing a key role liaising with residents over measures to improve the management of Ruislip Lido at the height of summer.  

Philip is also currently Vice Chairman of Hillingdon’s Social Care and Health Select Committee, and for many years held cabinet responsibility for services including social services, health, housing and environment.

Philip regularly meets residents and is a great believer in partnership with the local community and other stakeholders to improve and enhance our local living environment.
